A video to encourage litter-bugs to bin their rubbish has been made by a Stourbridge theatre group.

Members of the 'Side by Side' theatre company, which is made up of actors with learning difficulties who attend the town's college, have put together the video to help the Friends of Mary Stevens Park.

The Friends group was set up at the ends of last year to help protect the park and members have been urging young people to take pride in their surroundings.

Susan Wallin, a college lecturer and artistic director of 'Side by Side', decided to step in and help the group by making the film.

The video - filmed in the Stanley Road park - is set to be shown in schools in a bid to stop children dropping litter.

It is acted out in mime and based around a scene from the theatre groups next production ' The Green Fuse '.

The play which will be staged at the Stourbidge Town Hall on June 18, focuses on gardens through the ages.

Anyone who wishes to find out more about the video can contact Mrs Wallin on 01384 344603.
